Knoll has unveiled Konzert, a harmonious private-office system designed by Italian architect and designer Paolo Dell’Elce. Created to anticipate the evolving needs of today’s workplaces, Konzert offers designers the chance to achieve architectural balance through flexibility

Building on Knoll’s legacy of revolutionising interior planning and shaping the future of work, Konzert exemplifies the brand’s dedication to total design, a core philosophy in which all design elements work in harmony, from the furniture and interiors to the architecture. Featuring a collection of panels, tables, seating and storage elements that can come together in numerous ways, Konzert can seamlessly change depending on the interior, enabling an array of different arrangements. “It’s pretty complex from a product designer perspective,” Dell’Elce tells OnOffice. “You always have to zoom in and zoom out, because every single piece is a piece of furniture, but then it works as a whole, so you always have to keep control of what can be possible, what planners and designers can do with it. It’s both furniture and space.”

With Konzert, designers can invent nearly every element of the space through what the designer calls tectonic planning, allowing cabinets and shelves to be designed both horizontally and vertically through a variety of heights and depths. “It’s the ultimate design toolkit,” says Dell’Elce. “It allows planners and designers the freedom to play and bring all their visions to life across an array of configurations.”

Konzert transforms spaces with an impressive selection of premium materials, including veneer, Techgrain, laminate and melamine, available in a wide range of colours and finishes. Multiple integrated lighting, upholstered banquette options and specifiable grain direction are also on offer. “The main goal was to create furniture that is interesting and transmits some kind of emotion and expression,” he adds.
