Realised for Glera Games, one of the leading game companies in Belarus, Kotra Architects created a modern and functional interior
To shape the office interiors of Glera Games, Kotra Architects combined simple lines, organic materials and functional, non-decorative decor to create a contemporary workspace.
Located at Minsk’s historic Luch Watch Plant, the building has recently been reconstructed to meet the workspace needs of Glera Games, which occupies 1031 sq m of the building’s upper level. Defined by high ceilings and rows of symmetrical windows, the workspace interior is divided into four unique zones.
There is a welcoming entrance area and spacious amphitheatre, the latter perfect for informal meetings, presentations or events, as well as an open-plan work area and compact meeting rooms, which can be used for either remote or offline work.
Throughout the space, the architects placed great emphasis on the architectural composition, constructing a diverse series of volumes and using well-placed windows to flood the space with natural light.
Furthermore, Kotra Architects added depth to the workspace with accent colours. A bright orange wall and splashes of earthy red in the kitchen help create a cheerful yet grounded atmosphere, while stronger shades of cobalt blue introduce an electrifying and futuristic feel to the minimalist office.
“Architecture affects the interior, and the interior affects the architecture”, says Kotra Architects. “It works both ways. We took this idea as our basis and focused on creating a functional, non-decorative interior.”
“For this project, we hoped to create a well-designed space that’s saturated with architectural elements. Our aim was to create a holistic interior as well as form a flexible and functional space designed for collaboration, work and rest.”
When we think of words like ‘sleek’ and ‘simple’, minimalist designs with neutral colour schemes often come to mind. However, Kotra Architects wasn’t afraid to go one step further by adding unexpected blasts of colour to transform a timeless space into a stand-out scheme.
