Valencia-dwelling design duo Masquespacio has joined forces with Spanish tiling firm Roca to pay tribute to the beauty of ceramics in their exhibition titled A Look to the Future from the Past.
Inspired by Greco-Roman architecture and surrealist fantasies alike, the temporary installation showcases the versatility of ceramics, from contemporary furnishings to wall coverings and flooring to form a unique environment that combines various elements in perfect harmony.
With polished marble, and elegant porcelain, the natural stone adorns the pristine white space, which is juxtaposed with splashes of chic indigo and cobalt to create a luminous finish.
The new Roca Tile collections were born following a comprehensive study of the industry’s latest trends. To display their findings, Masquespacio and the Roca research and development team created a dreamy space that marries a variety of textures, forms and colours, rethinking the ceramic rule-book in the process, while also ticking all the right design boxes; the blue accents throughout are in-keeping with the 2020 Pantone Color of the Year, Classic Blue.
Masquespacio is a creative consultancy, founded by Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse in 2010. The Spanish agency is widely known for their playful projects and whimsical design touches, bringing fresh and innovative concepts to interiors worldwide.
The pair has received continuous recognition and numerous awards that include: the prestigious Elle Decoration Awards, Spain 2020, the prize‐winner of the New York Times Interior Designer Of The Year, 2019 in its Spanish edition and other distinctions such as the ‘Massimo Dutti New Values’ by AD Spain.
Roca Tile and Masquespacio will be displayed at the second floor of Casa Decor, in space 31, 5 March to 19 April 2020.
