Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Magis
The French designers have extended their Officina range for Magis with a chair and stool made from forged metal frames to a distinctly industrial feel. The construction geometry mirrors that of the existing tables, while the shell, made from injection-mould plastic, can be finished in leather or plastic. Watch video
Shin Azumi for Case Furniture
Case is launching a stool, bar stool, cafe and bar stools to compliment its Loku chair. The stool, which also uses 3D plywood technology, is moulded into shape by heating and pressing the pywood veneer. The British furniture company is showcasing the designs in its Case Cafe designed specifically for the show.
Living Divani
David Lopez Quincoces’s George chair has been updated with a ‘nude’ and ‘woven’ model. The latter includes a wicker version for indoors and a waxed rope version for both indoors and out.
Jasper Morrison for Cappellini
Jasper Morrison has updated his Bac chair, which is made of solid ash wood, with a royal blue aniline finish.
Kazuko Okamoto for Chairs & More
The Tulip collection by emerging designer Kazuko Okamoto comprises two softly rounded polyurethane chairs. The larger version is asymmetric in shape and features a pull-out table that fits a laptop, while the smaller of the two can be equipped with a small metal table top.
Bouroullecs for Vitra
Panerai London Design Medal winners Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have designed the Belleville collection for Swiss furniture giant Vitra. The chair frame made from black polyamide plastic, and its back legs snake up to support the backrest. The wooden version features an ultra thin 4.5mm plywood seat. It is also available in polypropylene, or upholstered in fabric or leather.
Gamper evolves the Bentwood chair
Martino Gamper has designed the St Mark chair for Moroso with a glossy yellow finish. The chair is a derivation of his Recto Verso chair, itself an ode to the classic Bentwood chair which traces a continuous curve from its back to its hind legs.
Mario Ferrarini for Crassevig
Designed to meet the rigours of the contract market, the Aura chairs are available with both high and low backrests and a choice of wheel or a metal stand for the base.
Barber Osgerby for Knoll
The British duo have designed the Pilot Chair, characterised by a prominent rectangular backrest. Available in both fabric and leather, the chair represents their continuing partnership with Knoll that began in 2013 with its sofa range.
