Premium flexible workspace provider Fora announces its commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030
Announcing its commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030, Fora‘s ambitious goal is in line with the United Nation’s 2030 Climate Action Goal, and 20 years ahead of UK’s 2050 net zero legislative requirement.
Fora’s net zero commitment encompasses 100% renewable energy, clean air, and zero waste to landfill. With buildings accounting for 40% of the world’s carbon emissions, Fora strives to address all facets of its impact, including: new and existing buildings, operational and embodied carbon, and energy consumption. Residual emissions will be offset using a Gold Standard programme and progress updates will be offered every six months.
“We understand climate change is the single biggest problem the world has faced. We all have it within our power to protect and restore our world, so we at Fora are taking responsibility”, shares Katrina Larkin, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Fora.
“Our commitment to achieving Net Zero Carbon represents a real turning point for us and our industry. We want our Residents to feel proud to be in a workspace that is helping to end the climate crisis and our Resident companies will also cut their own indirect carbon emissions simply by using Fora workspaces.”
Fora has achieved the Planet Mark Certification which means the coworking space provider is cutting carbon emissions annually while driving continuous positive change through their actions, people, and reach. Fora has committed to being transparent on their journey to net zero and will communicate progress every six months.
In addition, Fora has launched terra {fora}, a sustainability event series designed for Fora Residents and friends. The ongoing celebration of sustainability seeks to empower participants with practical learnings, tools and resources in order to combat climate change.
The terra {fora} event series will bring sustainability experts and Residents together to discuss ideas, tools, and resources that enable climate action in their businesses and their lives. The free events are open to the public and on the What’s On page on Fora’s website.
