New collection of interwoven vinyl tiles by Polyflor

Words by

In any office design – whether a quirky co-working space, or a building for 1000 people – there are fixtures that are just as important as any of the furniture and fittings that complete the space. One of the most used and most seen parts of any building is the floor – the impact it has on the feeling of an office space is one of the biggest challenges designers have to consider.

Balancing the visual appeal with necessary durability was the driving concept behind Polyflor's new Wovon collection. The range of interwoven vinyl tiles provides a unique and diverse selection of weave designs suited to the contemporary office, and its specialist construction offers tactility and sustainability as a recyclable product.

The new collection consists of three tile patterns – Serene, Structure and Optics – developed to give architects and designers open-ended options for creative placements in all sorts of environments. Serene is a subtle design, created to sit alongside the widest variety of surfaces, and provide balance to the space. The Structure tile combines several weaving techniques to create a three-dimensional floor design to add character and depth. Finally, Optics, inspired by the properties of light, uses light reflecting patterns to bring movement and life to an interior.

Tom Rollo, Polyflor’s marketing manager, explained the thinking behind the new range: "Wovon offers both the hard wearing, low maintenance properties of a heavy commercial vinyl construction and a stylish, tactile design perfect for specification in busy interior environments."

The vinyl flooring specialists developed 18 different designs in the Wovon collection range to extend the durable options available to designers. Each option is phthalate free and low VOC and available in 500mm x 500mm tiles, ready for next day dispatch.
