BDG designs Finsbury HQ in The Adelphi

Words by

Housed in London’s Grade II listed The Adelphi building on the banks of the river Thames, Finsbury’s new workplace boasts contemporary feel and outstanding views.

Finsbury is a global leader in strategic communications and a trusted adviser to many of the world’s most successful companies, institutions and organisations. The new London HQ had to reflect Finsbury’s values in look and feel, but also work as hub for clients, visitors and staff.

The Adelphi is a Grade II listed building retaining original 1930s art deco features, is a beloved fixture on the London skyline. The Portland stone facade is emphasised by the Gilbert Ledward sculptures that frame the building and the classic columns and Deco bronze work characteristic of the 1930s. Recently redeveloped, The Adelphi has managed to retain many of the original art deco interior features, such as Travertine marble surfaces, copper spandrels within the staircases and etched-glass panels throughout.

BDG Finsbury ONOFFICE BLUEBDG is behind Finsbury's new Central London offices

Signed by BDG architecture + design, the Finsbury’s new 1,200sq m space workplace on The Adelphi’s terrace has a variety of spaces, from private offices, quiet areas and open facilities, as well as various meeting rooms of different sizes, all with outstanding views. There is also a café which leads directly from the reception and lifts.

The centrepiece of BDG’s interior design is a dramatic wood and light ceiling fixture. The rest of the space is understated and functional with classic shades and wood finishing.

BDG architecture + design supported Finsbury and the WPP Real Estate team on the lease negotiations for their relocation to the Adelphi. Additionally, BDG provided workplace strategy services for the relocation, ensuring that the Finsbury team’s working style was reflected and provided for in the design of their new office.
