The first detailed images of the Battersea Power Station office space by Wilkinson Eyre and The Rockwell Group have been released.
Spanning 45,000 sq m, the office space will be located on the top six floors of the central boiler house and will be set around a 26m- high glass atrium. An open fire beneath a suspended industrial-style chimney pipe forms the centerpiece of the atrium, while wood and metal fittings and furniture add to the general aesthetic in keeping with the historic buildings’ industrial past.
The main office floors are spread across larger-than-average 7,450sq m floorplates with floor-to-ceiling, Crittall-style windows, and exposed services on the ceiling and walls composed of original and new brickwork.
There will also be outdoor ‘boxes’ for meetings set in the Sky Garden on the roof of the Switch building.
The landmark renovation will provide workers with access to restaurants, hotels, retail, a 2000-person capacity event space, and access to the 25,000sq m park that faces onto the Thames.
Construction began in July 2013 – the Battersea Power Station’s 80th anniversary – and its completion is penned for 2025.
