The Surface & Materials Show has announced its seminar programme for the upcoming show, in partnership with materials experts The SCIN Gallery. Talks, debates and workshops will take place throughout the event in the Surface & Materials Hub in Birmingham’s NEC from 6-8 October.
On the first day, the Society of British and International Design (SBID) – also an event partner – will host a seminar looking at the latest surface designs and how they can inject life into a project. The SCIN Gallery will lead a discussion on architectural materials, followed by an informative seminar on flooring trends.
The second day will be all about future trends and industry forecasts, providing a platform for visitors to discuss what themes and innovations might play a role in working practice in years to come. There will also be a seminar on glass, and its increasingly diverse use in architecture and interiors.
Day three will focus on re-use, looking at everything from reclaimed to recycled materials and how to incorporate them into projects. Lastly, the hub will host a master class in facade materials.
