Materials specialists the SCIN Gallery is teaming up with the Surface and Materials Show to create an interactive feature, as part of this October’s UK Construction Week.
The ‘Surface and Materials Hub’ will offer a snapshot of the materials of the future, with reference to ecology as well as focussing on the needs of the design and construction industries. There will be the opportunity for architects, designers and other specifiers to view and handle the materials. Says Annabelle Filer, managing director at the SCIN Gallery, “We love meeting people that are curious about the new and unique and this is a great way for us share some of the latest developments with the wider industry.”
In addition, the SCIN Gallery will be hosting Scin Cubed, a gallery of 60cm3 display pods, which will give materials exhibitors the chance to show off their wares on a smaller, more intimate scale. In this way, visitors can really get to grips with the stories behind the materials and meet the people involved in their production.
The Surface and Materials Show takes places at the NEC in Birmingham from 6-8 October. At the same time, visitors will also be able to attend several sister shows, among them Timber Expo and Kitchens and Bathrooms Live.
