Restaurateur Jeremy King, one half of Corbin & King, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Sleep 2014 conference, part of annual hotel show Sleep, taking place later this month. The duo recently opened The Beaumont hotel in London's Mayfair, receiving much laudation for its luxury art deco interior and Antony Gormley-designed extension.
Also speaking at the conference will be two more well-known hospitality double acts; George Yabu and Glenn Pushelburg, and Patrick Jouin and Sanji Manku.
Nigel Coates Studio will be one of four design and architecture firms to create concept rooms for the Sleep Set competition, part of the main Sleep event. Coates’ team will compete against Dreimeta, NoChintz and SKM Design, presenting their take on the future of hotel design under the theme ‘simplexity’.
Elsewhere, Swedish studio Stylt Trampoli has designed this year’s Sleep Bar, which promises to bring the outdoors inside with an abundance of plants and floral artwork.
Sleep takes place from 26-27 November at the Business Design Centre, London, with exhibitors showing furniture, bathrooms, fabrics, surfaces, lighting and technology.
