Leading brands and designers returned to the Olympia exhibition centre for this year’s vibrant 100% Design event. With more than 400 architects, product designers and interior specialists, OnOffice picked out the key highlights.
Belgian lighting company Kinetura (pictured above) produces high-end lighting products and is renowned for its four-dimensional, metamorphic and responses designs. This year, it brought a controllable and transformative lighting system that dims and shapes accordingly (via programmed automation) to suit your requested atmosphere – a perfect addition to any reception or breakout space.
Samuel Chan, founder of The Channels – a southwest London studio and showroom that launched in 1995 – showcased an updated version of his classic wooden folding chair. Titled ‘Pottinger’, the folding collection sees fine craft details and a tactile leather seat. There are square and round tables to match – suitable even for those small and compact spaces.
Meeting Pod Co
The Meeting Pod Co, Isle of White-based manufacturer of meeting rooms, has created a range of acoustic pods to suit any and every modern office. Making its debut at this year’s event, the company showcased a variety of family members, which included Meeting Pod, available in customisable colours and designed for private or collaborative working space.
Inspired by Scandinavian minimalism and Japan’s craftsmanship, London-based manufacturer Kobble creates locally based furniture that ensures a positive social and environmental impact. By sourcing FSC plywood, oak veneer and birch harvested from the Baltic forests, each piece is sustainable, flat packed and easy to assemble. The desk and bench unit were an OnOffice favourite.
