Art and design studio Acrylicize has completed Timeless, the world’s largest suspended digital timepiece. The installation comprises 40 LED-driven large-scale letters hung from the atrium of Senator House near St Paul’s in London. The letters are presented in a bespoke typeface based on a classic Roman scripture, a reference to the Roman ruins buried underneath the city, and each number and letter illuminates according to the time of day. Alongside the Timeless installation is Timed, also designed by Acrylicize and made by lighting designer Ben Rousseau, which forms the corresponding minute on a second hand to Timeless’s suspended hour hand by using the infinity mirror technique.
