Shoreditch-based Ace Hotel has created a range of products, from a door handle to an ashtray, for London Design Festival. Created by seven up-and-coming designers, the items are all for use in the hotel.
Philippe Malouin was charged with designing a versatile stool that could be used in multiple locations around the hotel. It needed to be robust enough to withstand everyday use and stackable.
Malouin’s solution was a solid white beech stool with three sturdy legs. The top features a scalloped edges, which allows the stools to slot together easily, creating a solid stack that resembles a Roman column.
