San Francisco-based inventor Mike Goldberg has developed the StorkStand in response to the growing concerns over the health risks of sitting for extended periods.

StorkStand was funded by Kickstarter and attaches to the back of office chairs to create a mini standing desk. The desk is large enough to hold a laptop and phone, can hold up to 23kg, and folds down for easy portability.

"Sitting for extended periods is unhealthy, leads to lower productivity and is proven to increase the risk of heart failure," said Goldberg. "StorkStand combats the negative effects of sitting disease with an affordable, beautifully designed solution."
