Back in 2015, Eikund founders Morten Hippe, Frode Tingbø and Jørgen Tengesdal went on a treasure hunt across Norway, rummaging attics and archives, to discover the country’s hidden furniture gems and forgotten design history.
Since then, the design firm has reproduced long-lost Norwegian classics and brought iconic pieces, such as the Krysset chair designed in 1955 by Fredrik A. Kayser and the Evja table designed in 1958 by Torbjørn Bekken, back to life.
OnOffice travelled to Eikund’s factory and offices in Hellvik, Norway, in our latest issue to find out how a close-knit community is changing the face of Norwegian design forever.
