AKollection comprises a pentagon pendant light in bevelled, tinted mirror; pleat mirror panels in four different patterns; and bold, monochrome “piano” tiles from encaustic cement. The tiles are handmade in Tangiers and Morocco by local craftsmen, using age-old methods while incorporating ‘digital know-how’.
“When I design a new restaurant, hotel or bar at the studio, I have a very specific idea of what we want the end result to look like,” says Krassa. “At the studio, we spend so much time looking for the right “ingredients” to make it a reality; the exact chair, table, light, the finishes that would bring this idea to life.
“A lot of the time, we simply cannot find what we want, so we painstakingly design our own. I thought that it would be a great idea to take our products to the market and make them available to a wider audience.”
AfroditiKrassa Bar takes its cues from the high‐octane environment of catwalk fashion shows and includes 35 Pentagon lighting pendants hung from the ceiling; 30sq m of Piano tiles lining the oversized table/catwalk feature; and 5 square metres of Pleat mirror wall panels adorning the back wall of the bar.
Afroditi Krassa also recently designed the interiors for the new Curzon Victoria cinema.
