The intellectual bods at Prooff have come up with an interesting way to hold a private phone call in today’s open planned office utopia. Phone Box is an upholstered furniture piece that works like a public telephone booth (remember them?). Mounted on walls they muffle sound so you can retreat to take a private phone call and still be in the thick of it all. Similarly, the Dutch design studio has devised a chair that follows the same principle. EarChair has wings that wraparound the user and a large armrest for your laptop. Prooff have calculated ten configurations so even the fussiest can find a version that suits. The pieces form part of a larger collection and as we expect from Prooff collaborative working figures on the agenda with a modular sofa, WorkSofa, that can be arranged to suit informal and formal working styles and Niche, a smaller enclosed sofa for intimate meetings.
