Central St Martins student Lucy Coxhead has won wall-covering company Muraspec’s competition to find new design talent. Textile design students were asked to design a commercial wall covering with an Olympic and London landmark theme. The judges praised the “intricate design and bold use of colour” of the winning design, Heritage, inspired by the Horse Guard Parade. Coxhead scooped a £500 cheque and was given a week to work on the design in Muraspec’s design studio in preparation for launch at 100 per cent design. Heritage will go on sale in Muraspec’s limited edition digital range.
