A trio of Danish architects have won the competition to design a 25,000sq m office building for real estate firm PFA Ejendomme in Copenhagen. Vilhelm Lauritzen, COBE and Tredje Natur will create The Tip of Redmolen, a circular tower in the harbour area of Denmark’s capital.
The shape addresses its context on a tip of land with water on three sides, hence creating “a building without front and rear” say the architects. It also makes the most of 360-degree panoramic views and adds a unique form to the skyline. Inside, the middle is hollowed out, creating a central void bordered by terraces and a ground level public square. This satisfies the client’s brief for a friendly and transparent building, as well as an attraction for the city.
