Developer British Land is to redevelop Marble Arch House in west London following the company’s purchase of the site from the Portman Estate. The £40 million mixed-use scheme designed by Bennetts Associates will create 5, 574 sq m of offices, 1393 sq m of retail and ten luxury flats. Two five storey mixed-use buildings, 32-50 Edgware Road and 62-64 Seymour Street currently occupy the site. British Land also plans to build a restaurant behind 62-64 Seymour Street’s Victorian façade, which will be retained. The remaining structures will be demolished in the summer and the project is expected to complete mid-2013.
