This year, 100% Design’s line up includes some of the industry’s best-known figures who will enlighten, explain and entertain the crowds.
It all starts with Starck
Internationally acclaimed designer Philippe Starck will open this year’s 100% Design, where he will unveil his latest ceramic tile collection for Ceramica Sant’Agostino.
Starck will also discuss his inspiration through a series of images, touching on the talks overall theme of ‘serendipity’ (11:00, 17 September).
100% Design Late Night
Pecha Kucha founder Mark Dytham will host ‘100% Design Pecha Kucha’ to celebrate 20 years of the exhibition. Key figures from the show’s past will present 20 slides in 20 seconds, each based on the theme of ’20’. Top speakers include Jaime Anley, Nick Crosbie, Gareth Williams, Russell Pinch, Dick Powell, Luke Pearson, Ross Lovegrove, and Nina Tolstrup.
Gary Powell of the Libertines, who headlined with Pete Doherty and Carl Barat at Leeds and Reading Festivals, will entertain guests with a blend of indie and dance.
100% Design will be open until 9pm on Thursday 18th September and all 100% Design visitors are invited.
A visual celebration of 20 years of 100% Design
Photographer and journalist Barbara Chandler is celebrating 20 years of 100% Design with a photographic journey featuring 20 designers who have exhibited across the show’s history. The likes of Samuel Chan, Simon Pengelly (pictured), Michael Marriott and more have all been shot for this unique, one-off exhibition.

Don’t miss the talks at 100% Design’s new forum stage in the international pavilions section. Oikos will be discussing its ‘Oikos Google Glass’ at 100% Design and giving the lowdown on the project and potential applications (17 September 12.30pm).
The Italian design company is undertaking the second phase of its research during LDF at B&B Italia’s London store. It is inviting architects and designers to experiment with its new Google Glass app for A&D community, which currently in development.
Delight in Light Competition
Last year’s winner: Dollop by Ash Allen
The Delight in Light competition for lighting design students who based in the UK was established in 1985 by the Lighting Industry Association. Last year, over 10,000 people voted online for their favourite projects. The finalists’ designs will be exhibited at 100% Design.
