Nestled in a patch of parkland in Groningen, the Netherlands, sits a new office building that has been touted as one of the greenest in Europe. It’s certainly one of the most flamboyant. Shaken not stirred
Yushi Uehara has a manifesto with three main statements: firstly that architecture should be a logical construction to materialise the experience of the user’s activities; secondly that shocking colours change little – to make an impact you need to scrutinise the form; and thirdly, he pursues architecture that is the built equivalent of blue jeans.
