US architecture practice Goettsch Partners has unveiled a flagship office tower in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s new central business in Al Maryah Island. Developed for Al Hilal Bank, the 24-storey building will house 49,000 sq m of office and retail space with 1000 parking spaces. The design comprises three cuboids sitting atop a ground floor podium-type structure. The podium contains a bank and features a three-storey atrium. The aluminium and glass façade will increase natural daylight and will be shaded by vertical glass fins. The building is designed to achieve a Estidama 1 Pearl rating, Abu Dhabi’s BREEAM equivalent. Construction is expected to complete in late 2013.
